Avoiding the "Feature Factory" Trap
Avoiding the "Feature Factory" Trap
Many PMs fall into the trap of measuring success by "features shipped." This is a vanity metric.
The Shift: Move from "Output" (how much we built) to "Outcome" (what we changed for the user).
Outcome-Driven Roadmaps: Define a clear goal, such as "Reduce checkout friction by 20%," rather than "Add Apple Pay."
Measure Success: Did that feature actually move the needle on your specific KPI? If not, iterate or kill it.
Don't celebrate the launch; celebrate the impact.
